About

Hello! I’m Annie, the creator and host of Amorous Histories. You’ll normally find me at home with my cats nerding out about anything to do with the eighteenth century, history of sex or history of medicine.

I completed my MA in Eighteenth Century Studies at CECS, University of York in 2018. Most of my writing was on representations of sex in the Long 18th Century. Somehow I got a distinction (humble brag)! You can find a couple of my MA essays on my Academia profile.

By day I’m a festival producer in sunny Suffolk, working in the world of performance and live art. I love a highly formatted spreadsheet and all forms of colour coding!

I’m also a steering group member for Primadonna Festival, a collection of wonderful people who work to elevate the voices of women and those underrepresented in the world of writing. (They also have a podcast called The World as it Should Be.)

If you like what your hear/read/see feel free to get in touch with me via email or social media. Collabs welcome!

Amorous Histories is a podcast dedicated to exploring sex and sexuality in world history.
